I am a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. My family flipped homes my entire childhood so I experienced not only living and working in construction, but the bookkeeping and the process of the real estate industry. I graduated from high school in 1987 at the top 1% of my class. When I moved to Bloomington, Indiana in 1987 I worked my way into managing several different companies. I purchased my first home in 1989 at the age of 20 and my second home in 2001. I extended my education at IV Tech working on my associate’s degree holding honors and became a part of Phi Theta Kappa. In Feb. 2001 I set out on my journey into the real estate industry with a large firm. After 14 years I have decided to take my experience and not only make it my own, but help other agents work towards goals to assist the community. I have designed a company to not only help serve, but also give back to the community as well. In Sept. 2014 I announced for a one year term I will be donating a portion of my proceeds to the Olcott Center for Cancer Education, a referring agent and I also donated several inches of hair to the Children with Hair Loss, and we are sponsoring a softball team with Parks and Recs. Each year we will look to do several “Give back to the Community” events and post them on our site.
I was born in Detroit and have lived in the Bloomington area since 1972. I became a realtor in 2003 after graduating from Indiana University with a BA in Alternative Healing and getting my Naturopathic Doctor degree in 2001. I have always been a believer that a home or real estate is the best investment anyone can make. Not only does it give you a home with a place to live and raise a family, it gives a solid and secure place to invest your time and money as opposed to renting. I purchased my first home at 17 years old and immediately began improving it with a garage and new family room with a pool table. A home of your own brings a feeling of freedom and independence. In between my first home and the present, I raised two children, Kyla and Arlo, and now have a new grandson, Ronin. I have owned American Futons since 1978 and in my spare time, I am a Licensed Medical Hypnotherapist. I play guitar, sing, and write songs, do lapidary work, yoga and martial arts, and love to read. I will probably never retire because there are so many things I want to do yet including helping people in any way I can, and building a guest cottage using local limestone spall and passive solar heat. Life is just so much fun!
